INTRODUCTION OF COMBUSTION ENGINE:
An engine is a machine that converts the fuel into the motion. In this article, I talk about combustion engine so it is very necessary to make you know that what is an engine? .So the first thing which I will discuss is combustion. It is the process where something is burning. The combustion engine is designed to generate a mechanical force when the fuel is burned. The first Combustion Engine is built on 1859 by French Engineer J.J.ETIENNE LENOIR . There are two types of Combustion Engine:
- Internal Combustion Engine.
- External Combustion Engine.
Internal Combustion Engine:
The first Internal Combustion Engine is invented in 1854 by Eugenio Barsanti.
External Combustion Engine:
The first External Combustion Engine is invented in 1816 by Robert Striling.
INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC MOTOR:
A motor is a machine that is normally powered by electric or internal combustion. Now the question is that what is Electric motor.It is an electrical machine that interchange the electrical energy into mechanical energy. The purpose of this is to convert electric force into mechanical force. The working mechanism of the electric motor is that it creates the interaction between motors magnetic field. In Electric motor winding current is used to generate force and the force converts into the rotation. The first simple electric motor is invented by Michael Faraday in the year 1821. There are two main types of electric Motors:
- AC Motor.
- DC Motor.
The first AC Motor was invented by Nikola Tesla Patented in the year of 1888.
The first DC Motor was invented by Frank Julian Sprague in the year of 1886.
ELECTRIC MOTOR VS COMBUSTION ENGINE:
Now we will discuss the Electric Motor with Combustion Engine. We compare these by using the following principles which are:
- Internal Structure.
The criteria to measure the efficiency of the combustion engine is that its engine burned the fuel properly and the fuel is utilized in the combustion process.
The criteria to measure the efficiency of the electric motor is that what mechanical power is generated by the electric motor and how many electricity is consumed by the motor.
It works when the fuel is provided, the fuel which is used by a combustion engine is oil and the fuel is gather in waterproof pipes. If you want it to work properly so use refined oil because it makes it reliable.
It works when the electricity provided and it converts the electricity into mechanical power it operates because of electrometric interaction. It makes the interaction of current with magnetic field.
Maintenance principles of the combustion engine are not easy because in an engine the fuel must be clean and pure. The spark plug must be working properly. Compression system should be in good condition.
Maintenance principles of an electric motor are easy as compare to combustion engine because it’s run using electricity and just save it from dust and must ensure that the oil is on a level.
combustion engine technology is easy and understandable. It produces hydrogen from methane because it contains methane and get hydrogen from it and it is a renewable resource. Just we need to clean the water.
As compare to combustion engine its cost is low and its life is long because it contains less number of moving parts. It is soo efficient as compare to the combustion engine because it’s minimum efficiency is 50% It does not require fossil fuel that is why it does not contain any pollution. As compare to combustion engine electric motor require less labor.
There are many disadvantages of combustion engine like it is less efficient it makes Nitrogen and oxygen due to their reaction it provides oxides there are very less number of fuel station which provides hydrogen as a fuel and combustion engine also need the recharging as of mains and the fuel which is hydrogen is very hard to stock up safely. It is very expensive.
There are few disadvantages of electric motors like the large size it has and motors are not easily portable they needed the huge consumption of electricity. According to its requirement, we are compelled to use high power motor but the low motors are available which creates a problem. It expensive line extension.
There are two types of combustion engine internal combustion engine and the external combustion engine.
Internal Combustion Engine:
It is basically a heat engine due to heat it converts the fuel into the power and this process is performed in combustion chamber its make exo-thermic effect of fuel with the help of oxidizer and then it produces gasses of high pressure as compared to electric engine it is more reliable but its create the noise pollution because a large number of this type of engine is very noisy.
External Combustion Engine:
External combustion engine using two types of fuel oil and gas when the fuel is burned by the heat it burns outside the engine in external combustion engine the combustion chamber is filled by the fuel and mix with air and it produces a large amount of heat.
There are two types of electric motor internal combustion engine and an external combustion engine.
It is an electric motor stands for alternating current motor there are two parts of this motor the one is outside stator and the other is inside rotor the large numbers of AC motors are used in industry because they are highly efficient.T hey have two types first one is induction motors and number two is synchronous motors. The control of AC motor is simple like on/of.
